The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Rhode Island and Miriam Hospitals seek a Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine. The Division of General Internal Medicine fosters academic excellence, provides the majority of teaching for residents and medical students at the Brown Alpert Medical School's largest teaching hospital and maintains an academic environment strongly supporting scholarship and research endeavors. The Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine will report directly to the Chairman of Medicine.
The successful candidate must qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at the Alpert Medical School and have a national/international reputation for scholarly achievements appropriate for a full-time, senior academic leader. Minimum requirements include an MD degree, completion of residency training and Board Certification in Internal Medicine, and demonstrated commitment to teaching. Significant administrative experience at a major academic medical center will be expected.
