Our laboratory is interest in identifying the metabolic reprograming that occurs during cancer treatment, and how this modifies response. Importantly, we seek to identify metabolic vulnerabilities that occur under selective pressure of treatment, which can then be exploited to eliminate tumor cells. A postdoctoral position is available for an experienced and highly motivated candidate with a background in molecular/cellular biology and/or genetics to join our NIH-funded research group. Evaluation of cancer metabolism, gene function and key signaling events will include the use of in vitro assays, and mouse models; however, special emphasis will be placed on increasing the relevance of experimental findings to human cancer by validating potential therapeutic targets using primary patient samples (e.g. organoids, patient-derived explants) and in vivo xenograft models.
The successful applicant will be responsible for performing experiments in the laboratory which will include DNA, RNA, Protein, Metabolite extraction, Western blotting, Q-Real Time PCR, Tissue culture, Transfections, Functional Metabolomics, Flow Cytometry, Imaging, etc. as well carry out data analysis resulting from experiments and help with manuscript preparation/writing. Analytical expertise in Excel, Graph Pad Prism, Calcusyn is required, and some Bioinformatic experience (R, Python) is an advantage. Position requires strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, working as part of a team and willingness to learn new technologies.

A PhD degree in Cell Biology/ Molecular Biology/Genetics
Highly motivated and committed to academic biomedical research
