The COVID 19 Epidemiologists will work with the Special Assistant to the President for Public Health Operations to develop and operationalize asymptomatic testing strategies for OHIO employees and students. They will assist in determining the frequency of and protocols for surveillance and wide-net testing. They will develop sampling frames, invite participants to be tested, and analyze the data. They will work with Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics to provide data for dashboards and executive leadership.
Responsibilities: 1.Strategy: Develop strategies for asymptomatic testing of OHIO employees and/or students on all campuses. Modify strategies as need if clusters develop. Prepare an emergency readiness testing plan in case of outbreaks. Develop sampling frame and adapt as needed on a weekly basis. 2.Implementation: Identify participants based on sampling frame and coordinate with testing vendor to invite participants. Work with UCM and public health communication experts to create message strategy to drive robust participation. Work with vendor to receive data daily. 3.Analysis & Reporting: Analyze daily testing data. Calculate and monitor campus prevalence of COVID positive and potential cases. Provide data for daily reporting about state of epidemic across One OHIO. Revise modelling based on existing data. 4.Campus Collaboration: Help develop and revise OHIO policy and procedures as conditions require. Attend meetings of public health operations staff and serve on campus working groups and advisory committees as needed. Work with research groups in HCOM, CHSP, and GVS as necessary. Work closely with Student Affairs for student issues and HR for employee issues.
A Master’s Degree in public health or related field. Experience with survey methods and data analysis.
PhD in epidemiology or related field preferred.
