Work with a wide variety of constituents across campus and within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to create and implement strategies, policies, programs and training that supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment across the department and its sport programs for student-athletes and staff
Lead the department’s efforts to create a comprehensive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion plan within the Athletic Department Strategic Plan
Serve as a facilitator for programs and committee work and assist with the development and sponsorship of student-athlete and staff diversity and inclusion groups, while encouraging and supporting student-athlete and staff in their participation in campus, community and athletic programming
Ensure and assist in recruiting processes that promote diversity and acceptance for all people and support the ability to recruit and retain a diverse workforce.
Develop assessment and benchmark metrics to demonstrate student-athlete, coach and staff engagement with, and as possible growth in the context of, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs in athletics and provide an annual report of program progress.
Act as a thought leader, facilitator, and driver of the department’s diversity, equity and inclusion groups by spearheading the development and growth of the groups and ensuring ongoing, lasting impact
Identify and cultivate relationships in the DEI community, the campus community, business organizations and causes that focus on promoting and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion. Serve as a liaison between those units and the department. Develop and share thoughts, best practices and resource opportunities within and outside of the department.
A minimum of seven years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, professional athletics, a university/college setting, or equivalent work experience.
Proven success working with diverse groups of individuals in various professional settings.
The most qualified candidate will possess effective management and communication skills, have strong attention to detail, be highly organized, highly motivated and also have the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by events.
