The NP serving as the Green Surgery provider is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a licensed independent practitioner and is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws.
The Green surgery service NP has the responsibility to be scheduled and/or allocated to Green Surgery for medical management of their acute care patients. Additionally, the Green Surgery NP is responsible to partner with the patient and family and nurse case manager to impact timely and effective discharges and patient flow; impact patient and family experience through communication and education; mentor residents, clinical nurses and others; promote an interdisciplinary approach to care; and support new processes to improve patient outcomes.
In addition to key job responsibilities, qualifications and other job requirements listed below, the Green Surgery NP is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.
Masters Degree as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards, the latter set forth as an addendum to the position description.
Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.
Regular and consistent attendance at work
Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses
Current licensure as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider governing board(s)
Adult Gerontology Acute care NP or Acute Care educated and certified.
Lean performance improvement knowledge and experience.
Academic medical center experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
Experience using Epic EMR
