The Rockefeller University seeks an Analyst, Investments to join Investments. The Investment Analyst will work with the Chief Investment Officer and the entire team in managing a sophisticated institutional portfolio, spanning all asset classes, in both the public and private markets. The Investment Analyst will be involved in all steps of the investment review and decision-making process, including creating and presenting detailed portfolio analytics when completing underlying, bottoms-up due diligence on current or prospective public and private managers, and performing initial fund reviews by assessing statistical performance and other key investment criteria on a broad range of fund managers, including traditional equity and fixed-income funds, hedge funds, and private equity funds. Will be responsible for entering, reconciling, and maintaining investment performance data across several systems and coordinating performance reporting with an outside consultant, assisting in preparing written recommendations to the Investment Committee, and contributing to the ongoing refinement of asset allocation framework and implementation of public and private portfolios including underlying stock, sector and geographic exposures as well as allocation among peer institutions. Will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports for Investment Committee and Board of Trustees meetings and complete annual surveys and other external requests for information, ensure and maintain proper documentation of our pipeline of opportunities, committee minutes, meeting notes, and legal documentation for institutional memory, and represent the University at conferences, meetings and the investment community at large.
Bachelor's degree and outstanding academic credentials required. Prior relevant business experience required; investment or endowment experience preferred. Must have enthusiasm for and a keen interest in investments, endowment management, and advancement of the University's research mission. Candidates should also be excited to work as an integral member of a relatively small, close-knit team and willing to take on a broad range of tasks as needed. Must have excellent analytical skills, comfort with statistics and financial math, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and database software. Must be willing and able to juggle numerous projects simultaneously and respond to changing priorities. Must have the ability to complete assignments independently and on a timely basis. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team to accomplish broader goals and objectives. Must have the highest level of integrity, intellectual capability, professionalism, honesty, and loyalty. Must be willing to travel domestically and abroad when COVID restrictions lift.
