The USC POWER Lab (https://powerlab.usc.edu/)in the Department of Preventive Medicine is recruiting to fill a part-time Project Assistant position. The Project Assistant will be involved in data collection for externally funded research projects that investigate sex/gender differences and women-specific factors in consequences and mechanisms underlying tobacco addiction. Specifically, s/he will execute data collection protocols involving collecting, recording, and entering data via face-to-face, video, and phone based interaction with research participants for all active projects. This position requires recruitment of research participants, screening, and coordinating/scheduling participant laboratory sessions. Other duties will include purchasing and drafting settlements for project-related expenses as well as managing and overseeing the completion of project-specific grant progress reports and IRB-related documents. The Project Assistant will work closely with Dr. Pang, staff, and undergraduate volunteers to develop their knowledge in working with research participants while expanding their general research skills and interests.
The successful candidate will be able to work well as a collaborative member of a research team, have excellent organizational skills, and have strong interpersonal skills in relation to interacting with study participants. Experience working in a behavioral research setting is preferred. The position requires 20 hrs/wk attendance with flexibility to work weekends as needed from an approved work-from-home location and/or at theÂ USCÂ Health Sciences Campus in Los Angeles, CA.
