Serves within the function-based, high-energy ComArtSci staff structure in the role of office support for the Academic and Student Affairs Office. Responsibilities include oversight of 3300 undergraduate student records, processing major changes and overrides, writing queries in SIS to provide reporting information to college deans and department chairs for program assessment; support of director and advising staff; greeting visitors and callers (which are predominantly undergraduate students), and other daily operational support needs of the academic and student affairs office.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, calendaring and/or presentation software, SIS, Student Information Generator, Registrar’s Office Forms Menu, Degree Navigator, and the Electronic Student Academic Folder (ESAF); typing and filing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The preferred candidate will have three or more years of administrative support experience in an academic student affairs environment, possessing the following skills and characteristics: knowledge of University policies and procedures particularly as they impact undergraduate students; produce accurate results with frequent interruptions; detail oriented, experience in hiring, training, and assigning projects to student employees; customer service orientation; highly organized, problem solver, strong written communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork, flexibility, confidentiality, dependability, ability to establish and be able to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and event planning and coordinating skills.
Experience in the use of Google Docs, iModules, Desire2Learn (D2L), and Microsoft Office Professional Suite programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access).
