1. Conduct monthly inspections of all valves associated with fire sprinkler systems in all University facilities equipped with such systems. Facilities will include those located on the main campus as well as facilities located in Meridian, MS including MSU Meridian campus and Riley Center facilities. 2. Provide assistance with the annual facility safety reviews. 3. Provide assistance with fire drills conducted for all main campus facilities including Residence Halls. 4. Provide assistance with conducting and scheduling of pressure vessel inspections including inventory and tagging. 5. Provide assistance with conducting and scheduling of fire suppression system inspections, maintenance and testing. 6. Provide assistance with inspections associated with fire & life safety systems of renovation and new construction projects. 7. Performs related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Education: High School Diploma Experience: Three years on fire safety, building construction, or maintenance
Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or science-related field. NICET certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*Excellent computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. *Excellent written or oral communication skills. *Ability to travel in-state.

*Must work with hazardous materials and be in areas where biological materials, chemicals, and/or radiation are present. *Frequent external imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis. *Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
