Position provides reporting services to administrative and clinical departments on a monthly and ad hoc basis. Areas of responsibility include preparation of reports pulled from Epic billing and operations data sources using database, spreadsheet, and dashboard reporting tools.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monthly Report Functions:
Creates monthly financial reports for anesthesia department, reviews overall trends, and presents analysis in presentation format for executive team. Further analyzes results by creating and running the necessary queries to understand the factors contributing to performance. Presents analysis and answers questions. Creates and maintains monthly reports for Finance department. Troubleshoots issues and answers inquiries.
Ad Hoc Reporting:
Provides timely and accurate ad hoc reports for manager, business directors of anesthesia department, finance team, and other department teams as requested.
Works closely with manager and analysts to meet current reporting needs and innovate reporting methods with automation as well as development of templates and standard reports.
Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in business, health information management, or related field and two years experience in a health care or business environment.
Extensive experience with spreadsheet software and financial reporting preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding systems preferred.
Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills including formulas, pivot tables, and macros and PowerPoint skills.
Some SQL skills for pulling data from data sources preferred and experience using dashboard report software such as Tableau helpful.
Must be an analytical thinker, previous experience in financial reporting.
Has the ability to look for trends in data and research underlying data to explain transactional patterns.
Ideal candidate will have some demonstrated experience with technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with internal clients, team members, and supervisor are required.
Team player with flexibility in project work (i.e. handling multiple projects/tasks ongoing, cross-training).
Organization skills and experience with technical documentation.
The hiring range for this position is $21.18 - $26.99 per hour.
