Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative

Summary of Duties:
The Research Assistant 1 B/H will perform a variety of duties that provide direct laboratory and field support of ongoing research projects related to food safety and antimicrobial resistance. Duties will include the collection and processing of field samples at various locations including farms, water treatment plants, and grocery stores. Additional duties will include laboratory processing of field samples including basic bacteriology to recover bacterial isolates and biochemical assays to identify and confirm isolates, and preparation of isolates for long-term storage. The research assistant will also collate and summarize research data and maintain appropriate laboratory records.
