The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Senior Manager for Quality Data and Analytics will provide vision and expertise in service to ensuring the provision of high-quality cancer care to SCCAs patients and the Puget Sound Region. Teams overseen by this leader will guide the measurement, monitoring and evaluation frameworks to serve peers in Quality, SCCA outpatient and inpatient clinical areas and fulfill SCCAs external reporting requirements.
This new role will partner with internal stakeholders and external parties (payors, professional societies, national committees) and will serve as a thought-leader to describe SCCAs quality measurement strategy. Areas of direct oversight include: Quality Analytics and the Cancer Registry Department.
This role will report to the Director of Quality, Safety and Value.
Oversee quality measurement priorities, framework and target-setting with support from Quality leadership and partnership from Clinical and Medical Leadership
Oversee external quality reporting activity, communication to internal leaders and stakeholders on SCCA performance and identification of opportunities to improve comparative performance
Lead teams to measure, monitor and evaluate care to assess alignment with evidence-based practices- specifically related to efficacy and efficiency and subsequently work with clinical and medical teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement
Oversee successful submission of cancer cases into all relevant registries
Lead analysis and organization of complex qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial and administrative data and synthesize results into meaningful recommendation, guidance and presentations
Represents SCCA Quality Division on internal and external committees or task forces as needed. Including but not limited to work for and with the external C4QI group and ADCC Quality Committee
Final sign off on accuracy of quality data reported to SCCA Board of Directors via the Quality, Safety and Value Dashboard
Ensures incorporation of regional and national benchmarking data in to SCCA quality and value data reporting
Bachelors degree and 5 years of related experience inhealthcare analytics, quality measurement, quality reporting or Masters degree and 2 years of experience
Prior experience in managing or leading a quality measurement or analytics team
Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed and executive-level recommendations
Domain expertise in healthcare quality measurement- oncology specialization a bonus
Ability to develop measurable goals and demonstrate quantitative change or improvement
Knowledge of healthcare data systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Skilled at presenting high level, complex ideas in various formats (slide presentations, memos, talks)
Comfort with statistics terminology and interpreting statistical analyses

The purpose of this organization is to provide state-of the-art patient and family centered care; support the conduct of cancer clinical research and education; enhance access to improved cancer interventions; and advance the standard of cancer care regionally and beyond. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Northwest, and according to the National Cancer Data Base, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients in general have better survival rates than patients treated at other cancer treatment centers.
