Lecturer of Secondary Teacher Education in Science
For the 2020-21 academic year, the School of Education may have a need for a temporary, part-time science master teacher/instructor. The instructor would be responsible for teaching 2 discussion sections in the winter and spring of 2021. The discussion section includes both the modeling and unpacking of culturally responsive NGSS aligned lessons, as well as student rehearsals and modeling of instruction. The workload for each quarter is 1.5 units, and classes meet 10 times per quarter, in the evenings.
Service Period Dates for 2020-2021 Academic Year: Winter Quarter: 1/4/21 - 3/19/21 Spring Quarter: 3/24/21 - 6/11/21
Minimum Qualifications: California teaching credential in science. At least 5 years of grade 6-12 teaching experience in science. Relevant experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications: A master's degree in education or relevant content area. Experience mentoring or teaching pre-service teachers. Experience developing curriculum and providing professional development in curriculum design.
Annual full-time salaries will begin at a base rate of $56,381.
