Assists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases. Independently completes database administration tasks. Obtains instruction and guidance from senior staff to complete more complex activities. Participates in maintaining and monitoring database environments and database performance.
The mission of CBITs is to design, evaluate, and sustainably implement digital mental health solutions. The overarching theme of CBITs’ research is focused on the design, evaluation, and implementation of technology-enabled interventions for common mental health problems.
The database systems engineer will support research projects focused on designing, implementing, and evaluating technology-enabled services to address common mental health problems.
With senior staff and users, provides recommendations regarding system planning and budgeting.
Participates in the design and analysis of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
Performs data backups and recoveries.
Monitors and maintains continuity with licensing and maintenance agreements.
Participates in change control process.
Monitors and responds to security alerts
Integrates systems through database design.
Maintains database dictionaries.
Maintains database backup processes.
Monitors daily processes and responds to alerts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Knowledgeable in REDCap and Python.

Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Experience developing and managing databases for clinical research.
