The Employee Relations Partner is a key role within the HR partnerships function. The ER Partner provides subject matter expertise in the consistent execution and delivery of HR services to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in the areas of employee relations and investigations, HR policies and procedures, and special projects designed to improve overall HR service delivery.

Employee Relations (70%)
Work with assigned HR Business Partners and client groups to resolve complex workplace matters including but not limited to leading climate surveys and conducting investigations in response to formal complaints, including interviewing appropriate parties, reviewing and gathering related documentation/data, drafting of summary reports and presentation of recommendations for effective resolution.
In collaboration with HR Business Partner, consults with managers and staff regarding various concerns, including administering the corrective action process, addressing workplace disputes, and facilitating resolutions of issues.
Manage employee off-boarding process, including conducting exit interviews, logistical arrangements for final paychecks, deactivation of network access.
HR Policies & Procedures (15%)
Advise and assist managers and staff with interpretation and application of personnel policies and procedures.
In collaboration with HR Business Partners and other HR colleagues, provide effective guidance, advice and referrals on human resources policies and procedures and laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance with DFCI policies and with state and federal employment laws, such as FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and EEO/Affirmative Action.
Participate in the review, maintenance, and communication of HR policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal law, as well as Joint Commission requirements.
Additional Projects (15%)
Assist Director and HR Business Partner team with special projects as assigned, including but not limited to:
The compilation and analysis of employment data to identify trends and determine levels of employee engagement.
Conduct termination analysis and report on trend related to both involuntary and voluntary terminations.
Conduct exit interviews and identify themes to support guidance and feedback to client areas where appropriate. Review exit survey data from vendor to ensure survey tool is effective and customized as appropriate.
In collaboration with HRIS and HR Business Partners develop standard reporting that can be used by HR Business Partners to help in organizational diagnosis.
Respond to and triage requests from staff and managers to ensure timely and effective customer service.
Collaborate with HR colleagues to deliver HR service to designated client areas (i.e. compensation, recruitment, leave administration etc.)
Participate in and support initiatives specific to both the HR team and Dana-Farber (i.e. process improvement, diversity & inclusion etc.).
Prepare and support managers in response to unemployment claim cases.
All other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, industrial relations or a related field or equivalent experience; graduate degree in human resources, law, business or related field and/or PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.
This position requires 5 years of recent human resources experience in an employee relations consulting role with significant exposure to employment and labor law, preferably in a large, complex organization. Years of experience may count towards degree requirements.
HR Business Partner experience preferred.

Experience with PeopleSoft preferred

Experience managing diverse employee relations issues and solid experience with HR processes required.
Good knowledge of state and federal employment/labor laws and practices.
High degree of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HR systems (PeopleSoft).
