Software analysis and design, programming, debugging, and testing. Involves writing software programs, and compiling and debugging the programs so that they run error free. Maintains the programs and extends them with additional functionality. Writes and tests scripts. Interacts with a large team of developers. Provides technical guidance to students.
Note: This position is grant funded for 12 months, with annual renewals contingent on the availability of grant funds and performance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and three years of experience with procedural languages such as Java and C#, scripting languages such as Python and PhP, web service tools, XML tools, .NET, and grid and cloud computing technologies.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Experience conducting experimental performance evaluations of software and hardware systems. Fluency in procedural languages such as Java and C#, scripting languages such as Python and PhP, web service tools, XML tools, .NET platform, and grid and cloud computing technologies. Skilled as a software engineer. Experience in middleware programming. Ability to work in a fluid environment. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals.
Working Conditions / Demands
Requires the ability to operate computers and other related technical equipment. Required to maintain and interact with computers and frequently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
