Position Summary: The 4-H Events Coordinator and Office Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, managing, coordinating and implementation of all 4-H special events including but not limited to: Ambassadors, Teen Conference, Know Your Government, steering committee events, faculty/staff events, and 4-H professional development events. This position will also provide primary logistical coordination on: the statewide robotics, volunteer professional development, regional ambassador, and 4-H national events. Serving as the main office manager for the department, this position provides support to the 4-H Director, 4-H state faculty and staff and 4-H professionals in the 42 county extension offices. This position is also responsible for providing the direct supervision of the Administrative Coordinator and support staff. In addition, this position provides financial management and accountability of the revenue and gift accounts along with the management of all 4-H college scholarships.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience developing and presenting information in large group and individual settings.
Experience balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.
Experience working with youth programs.
Experience providing technical assistance to program staff.
Experience in program evaluation and writing reports to document program outcomes.
Experience managing events.
Experience using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree PLUS five years relevant work experience; OR Masters degree in education, business or closely related area
Experience working in extension, preferably 4-H. Excellent computer skills including word processing, database management; excellent communication skills and ability to work with people; excellent organizational skills.
Ability to: Coordinate, plan and implement events, workshops, training, and programs; manage multiple budgets; organize and prepare information and materials, communicate with the public both orally and in writing and by telephone; work flexible schedule including some weekends; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; work with and around school age children; use good judgment and work independently.
Experience training at the local, state and national level for professional staff and volunteers.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: This position requires up to 30% travel for state and national events.
