Dr. Yzette Lanier seeks to hire a part-time data collector for a CDC-funded study entitled “The development of a couples-focused HIV behavioral intervention for heterosexual Black and Latino youth”. Data collectors will primarily be responsible for the recruitment and retention of study participants. This includes screening participants, administering surveys, and tracking potential and enrolled participants. Data collection activities will primarily be based in the field (South Bronx and Upper Manhattan).
Individuals will be recruited to the study at community-based and other venues in the South Bronx, NY. Accordingly, this position will take place in the field as well as occasionally in office. Data Collectors may also assist the PI with administrative tasks.
Please Note: This is a fixed-term, part-time position through 4/30/2021
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare materials for data collection.
Recruit and screen potential participants.
Administer surveys to enrolled participants.
Assist with retention and tracking efforts (i.e., placing follow-up calls, locating “lost” participants)
Assist with other administrative tasks, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, nursing or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Prior data collection experience with youth populations and/or communities of color.
Proficiency in using REDCap or QDS.
Evening and weekend availability.
Ability to commute to/from NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing and community sites in the South Bronx and Upper Manhattan.
Flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English-Spanish.
