The Department of Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a surgeon for the position of General Surgery Residency Program Director. This is a full-time position on the non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator career track at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The selected candidate will be responsible for directing the Department’s ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program and oversee 3 Associate Program Directors. The remaining work time/effort will be dedicated to the clinical practice of general surgery and/or one of the following subspecialties: breast surgery, surgical oncology, gastrointestinal surgery, endocrine surgery, minimally invasive surgery or trauma/critical care surgery.
Qualified candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
At least 3 years of recent experience as program director, associate director or core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited general surgery program
Board certification in general surgery
Strong leadership skills, organizational, and administrative qualifications
Have or be eligible for Illinois state medical licensure
The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
