The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Technician B officer to join our team in a full time position. Columbia University Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will support the department by providing research technical support to the Division of Critical Care Medicine
The Technician B will assist on animal surgeries, perfusion, general histology, and molecular techniques.
Will be responsible for ordering lab supplies
Responsible for maintaining animal colonies and maintaining inventories
The Tech B will help on establishing a database
Any other related research duties as assigned.
Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.
MS degree in neuroscience or its equivalent. Individual must have experience in small brain surgery, as well as current molecular techniques, including making transgenic constructs, quantitative PCR, western blotting, issue culture, etc.
It is required that the individual has experience in small animal brain surgery, as well as current molecular techniques, including making transgenic constructs, quantitative PCR, western blotting, tissue culture etc.
In addition, he/she will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of the entire lab which includes ordering supplies, maintaining animal colonies, maintaining inventories and establishing a database.
