General Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Projects, the IT Application Manager supports the Department of Facilities and will oversee and manage a team of software developers and a wide-variety of facilities-related IT systems and strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for independent projects and those aligned under larger, more complex programs and for all aspects of IT in Facilities including any existing operational application systems, their inter-dependencies and life cycle.
Interact with units across Yale University, as well as with senior leadership within IT, Facilities, Finance, Procurement and other units. This position and will focus on ensuring critical IT systems such as Asset Management and Capital Project Management within Facilities are planned, implemented and operated at the Enterprise level.
Oversee and manage the recruiting, training and development of a staff of technical professionals. Manage the staff performance management process.
This position requires an individual who has a mindset that demonstrates stakeholder partnership, judgement, risk management, team leadership and building, ownership, commitment, learning agility and business knowledge.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field and six years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Proven experience leading technical projects and individuals, demonstrated and applied experience delivering projects, especially in a large enterprise services environment.
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage through changing priorities and excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with ability to manage diverse client groups.
Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.), strong analytical and problem-solving skills and solid business and technical acumen.
Stakeholder management experience. Proven ability to earn the trust of key stakeholders, set direction and mobilize teams.
Strong leaderships skills and judgment. Ability to make decisions and work effectively under pressure, self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and ten years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in facilities and asset management systems (e.g. FAMIS) and building automation systems.
