The Mailman School of Public Health Office of Online Education seeks a student interested in working and learning in the area of online learning support. Working within the Office of Education, under the direct supervision of IT???s Online Edu Support Team, the position will assist in a range of technical and pedagogical tasks.
September 8th through December 23rd
Applicants should expect to be able to cover a minimum of 4 shifts each week
9 support shifts are available:
M-F 8:00 am-noon
M-F 11:00 am-3 pm
M-Th 5:30 pm-8:20 pm
S 8 am ??? 11, 11 am ??? 2 pm, 2 pm - 5 pm
SU 8 am ??? 11, 11 am ??? 2 pm, 2 pm - 5 pm
Troubleshoot and correct technical and production issues that arise during live sessions in Zoom with minimal disruption to learner experience 20%
Support instructors in focusing their time effectively on students and not technology challenges 20%
Anticipate learning environment requirements and proactively configure online learning tools to the needs of the instructor 20%
Assist with Zoom features such as polls, screen sharing, breakouts and whiteboards 20%
Manage Zoom local device recordings and upload to CourseWorks (Canvas) 15%
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested 5%
Ability to troubleshoot audio, video & networking issues on common computing platforms
Familiarity with live conference meetings in Zoom or similar live conferencing platform
Experience working in Microsoft teams or similar cloud sharing and collaboration hub
Need to have reliable and fast internet connection
Ready to use Zoom, Canvas and Panopto in web browser
*Training will be provided for all technical qualifications. However, a qualified individual does need a willingness to learn new technical skills.
