Essential Functions: Carry out experiments independently with minimal supervision involving retinal infection, inflammation, innate immunity, and signal transduction. Assist postdoc fellows and graduate students in their experiments, keeping lab records and inventory, assist PI in preparation of research results for publication in scientific journals, grant applications, and presentation at scientific meetings. Train other students and research assistant as needed.
Qualifications: Candidates with a Bachelor degree in biology or related are with expertise in Microbiology, Immunology and/or Cell biology are encouraged to apply. The candidate will receive training in a variety of cell biological, microbiological and immunological and imaging techniques and will have access to the state of art core facilities of the department. Candidate are expected to have:Ability to perform in-vitro experiments using cultured cells.Ability to work with animal models of infectious diseases.Ability to multi-task and adapt to various methodologies in the laboratory.Ability to work independently as well as within a team.Ability to write drafts for manuscripts, fellowship and grant applications.
