Assist with all aspects of patient care.Â Coordinate clinic schedules, patient appointments and follow up. Â Answers patient phone calls, verify insurance benefits, prepare charts for clinic and prepare charge tickets for clinic visits. Coordinate scheduling of all patient appointments which include sending packets to patients with pre-arrival instructions, prepare charge tickets and review medical records for completeness and accuracy.
Assist the office with clerical duties. Other duties may include assisting the Clinic manager with quality assurance, patient flow or data collection.Â Other duties as assigned.
Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. In depth knowledge of all insurance types.
Minimum Education:â¢High school graduate or equivalent Minimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢Entry level accepted; 1+ years experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting preferred. â¢Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. â¢Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. â¢Familiarity with word processing, IDX, Cerner, PBAR and scheduling software is preferred. â¢Must also have knowledge about managed care and insurance authorizations. Required License/Certification:â¢Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. â¢BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association card preferred but not required.
