The Boston Children's Hospital Pharmacy Team is expanding our program and our technician career ladder to meet the evolving needs of our complex patient medication including critical care, clinical research, inpatient, and ambulatory patient populations.
This Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for:
Following established policies and procedures, filling and delivering prescribed medication orders as directed by a registered pharmacist.
Preparing and compounding non-sterile and sterile medications, as prescribed, following established protocols and techniques.
Providing training to new technicians and assisting in organizing daily workflow to meet established priorities and production requirements.
Filling supply requisitions, restocking pharmacy locations and nursing units.
Performing routine quality control and maintaining various records and documentation.
To qualify, you must have:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Registration with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT registered with PTCB) required within six months of hire date.
Analytical skills to gather and interpret data.
Ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions.
The ability to work a rotating schedule including days, evening and overnight shifts as well as weekend holiday coverage.
Opportunities available for both new and experienced Pharmacy Techs.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
