Assistant Professor of Instruction in Statistics. The department is part of Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern, a major research university located in Evanston Illinois, adjacent to the city of Chicago. The department offers BS, MS, and PhD programs in statistics and data science, with a rapidly growing undergraduate program. Appointment begins September 1, 2021. This is a full-time benefits eligible position.
The primary duties of Assistant Professor of Instruction will be to work with the other faculty to enhance the undergraduate program in statistics and to teach six one quarter courses per year in introductory statistics and data science. The appointee will participate with other faculty in affairs of the department including governance.
An earned doctorate in statistics or a related field by September 1, 2021. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship in some area of statistics. Excellent computing skills and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, and three reference letters.
