This is a TEMPORARY part-time position contingent upon successful completion of a background check, pre-employment drug test, and DOT physical. This job may become a regular part-time or full-time position based on job performance, evaluations, and employment needs.
Under general supervision by the Shuttle Bus Supervisor, a person in this position operates a university shuttle bus as assigned
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Drives shuttle bus providing transportation of students to and from designated shuttle stops according to route schedule provided
Performs routine cleaning and pre-trip inspection of bus once or more daily as needed
Makes recommendations for adjusting shuttle route for safe and efficient service
Maintains positive customer relations with passengers
Actively participates in departmental training programs
Maintains and submits appropriate paperwork in a timely manner
Performs related duties as required.
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Must obtain CDL learners permit within one week of employment start date if driving a transit bus
Must successfully complete driver training program and obtain CDL license with passenger endorsement within six weeks of employment start date if driving a transit bus
Valid driver's license with clean driving history for three years
Two years of experience in customer service
Must complete and pass a DOT physical exam
Operator must be willing to submit to drug testing as required
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
