Performs Medical Technologist Duties Performs standard laboratory examinations on human specimens. Follows quality control procedures Keeps accurate daily records Ensures hazardous waste is disposed properly Collection of specimens and processing and packaging to send to reference lab
2. Performs Administrative Duties Maintains accurate daily records Trains Medical Lab Assistant to perform basic lab tests Performs controls on instruments daily and kits when changing lot numbers or shipment date. Calibrates lab equipment
3. Performs Miscellaneous Duties Provide pleasant, prompt service to patients Performs other responsibilities as assigned
Three years of undergraduate work in Medical Technology and one year training in an approved school of Medical Technology Registered as a Medical Technologist One year experience in field Excellent verbal communication skills
Registered as a Medical Technologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities commensurate with the experience gained through successful completion of the above-mentioned minimum job requirements.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
General office conditions Exposure to body fluids which have the potential of being infectious
