Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Director
The University of Tennessee, Graduate School of Medicine based in Knoxville, Tennessee seeks a dynamic leader/educator to join the faculty in the Department of Medicine Division of Hematology and Oncology as a Fellowship Director to lead our new Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program. This position is a part-time, non-tenure track, academic appointment that offers a highly competitive compensation package with dedicated time for program implementation and supervision. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with applicant's experience and qualifications.
The Department of Medicine includes 17 divisions and in addition to thriving Internal Medicine Residency and Transitional Year programs there are established fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is composed of 14 members dedicated to the tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and research.
The candidate must be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Qualifications include eligibility to obtain a license to practice medicine in Tennessee. MD, DO or equivalent required. The selected candidate will have at least three years faculty experience in a university-affiliated Hematology and Oncology program, preferably with demonstrated experience of initiating a successful fellowship program. We are seeking a clinical-educator with strong leadership and organization skills, and experience in training fellows. A track record of substantive research and scholarly activity is highly desirable. Candidates must have a commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.
The UT Cancer Institute registers over 70,000 patient visits with over 3,000 new patients with a cancer diagnosis annually. In-hospital consultations are provided at UT Medical Center, the regions only academic medical center.
