The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate is seeking a full time Pharmacy Assistant/ Pharmacy Technician Supervisor. The successful candidate will: - Direct oversight of all Pharmacy Technicians (daily work related assignments). - Direct oversight of all Pharmacy Technicians schedules to include days off requests. - Supports all phases of the 340B Drug Program and communicates with the 340B Coordinator on all related matters. - Oversees aspects of workflow and other operational efficiencies of the Pharmacy Technicians. - Evaluates Staff Technicians on an annual basis or more often as needed; ensures that performance indicators are met and ideally exceeded at all times. - Conducts routine staff meetings and staff huddles for Technicians, participates in departmental staff meetings as required. - Supports all aspects of the department ordering process and ensures that contracts adhered to at all times. - Serves as a back up to the Pharmacy Buyer. - Acts as a liaison to nursing on matters related to the automated dispensing cabinets and their inventory. - Participates in review of drug shortages and provides the Director of Pharmacy or supervisor the drug shortage reports. - Provides statistics for the work area they are assigned (e.g. cost of goods, trending of drug spend and drug usage). - Helps to oversee workflow efficiencies for the Pharmacy Technicians. - Helps to support and encourage staff education and promote a spirit of growth for the staff reporting to them. - Possesses excellent written and communication skills and prepares notices to staff on updates regularly. - Helps oversee regulatory compliance on nursing units. - Helps to fill automated dispensing cabinets as needed. - Helps to deliver drug supplies to units as needed. - Helps to oversee the management of nursing unit inspections and performance indicators related to these. - Helps to maintain cleanliness of Pharmacy at all times. - Attends meetings outside of the Pharmacy as needed. PREFERRED: - Associate's Degree with two (2) years of relevant supervisory experience.
