Purpose of Position
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the SKyTeach Program; supporting the Master Teachers; assisting students, Co-Directors, Steering Committee, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Manage annual budget, using Banner Finance to work with WKU, College Heights Foundations, and Grants and Accounting
Coordinate internship opportunities with internship sites, master teachers, and students.
Coordinate purchases on behalf of SKyTeach Program
Handle various university paper work; maintain office files, databases, and reports
Organize personnel files for staff and Master Teachers
Supervise student employees and SKyTeach office associate
Maintain and operate office equipment and necessary software packages
Coordinate with UTeach Institute and NMSI
Advise SMED students on coursework to take
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule rooms for courses and other SKyTeach needs
Assist with Steering Committee meetings: scheduling, preparation, and taking minutes
Make travel arrangements for SKyTeach personnel
Balance all departmental accounts on a regular basis
Assist with internal and external grant purchasing and accounting
Daily management of university, grant, and Foundation accounts
Provide budget statements to grant PI and Co-Directors
Prepare purchasing requisitions, expense vouchers, etc.
PEARS- data entering system to UTeach Institute
Personnel policies and procedures
Train and supervise office associate and student worker(s); prepare departmental student payroll; handle hiring and termination paperwork for all departmental student employees; handling and organization of job applicant files for staff and Master Teachers
Maintain and run office equipment: laser printer, copier, adding machine, fax machine, binding machine, labeling machine, typewriter, and computers

Knowledge and Skills Required
Experience in using Windows or MacOSX computer operating system
Experienced in using the following software:
Word processors (e.g., Microsoft Word, Word Perfect)
Databases (e.g., Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Access, SQL)
Spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
Internet Browsers and email (e.g., Mozilla/Firefox, Internet Explorer)
Specialty Software (e.g., Banner, TopNet, Info View)
Calendar (e.g., iCal, Clie Desktop)
Bachelors degree, five years office experience, and three years experience in program management
Hourly Rate: $17.00
