The U.T. Student Health Center is seeking a full-time CertifiedNursing or Medical Assistant to serve in the role of Clinical Assistant I. Theposition is a non-exempt hourly position of limited duration (LDA).Duties will be carried out in accordance withestablished standards and ethics of medical confidentiality and as stated inthe Student Health Center's policies.
1.To provide primarily direct patient care dutiesincluding:
*Assessment of patients entering the StudentHealth Center including the taking of vital signs.Enters all documentation in the electronichealth record as instructed.
*To provide ambulatory assistance for thosehaving difficulties with mobility.
*Works closely with nursing and administrativestaff to provide quality patient care;
*Serves as a chaperone when indicated for medicalstaff;
*Assists with medical emergencies;
*Performs EKGs and phlebotomy when needed;
*Scans medical records into the electronic healthrecord.Assists with the updating ofimmunization records.
*Obtains specimens for laboratory testingincluding blood, saliva, etc. as ordered. Collection may require going out intothe campus and performing collections to be returned to the laboratory fortesting.
2.To provide indirect patient care duties:
*Restock and maintain supplies in patient careareas.
*Disinfects patient care areas as needed;
*Answers telephone calls and faxes records
