Full-time, non-tenure track, administrative and assistant professor/instructor position to begin August 2020.
Teach undergraduate professional education courses for the College of Education and Human Services at the Hopkinsville Regional Campus. Assist with the development and implementation of professional development schools in the Hopkinsville region. Site Coordinator responsibilities include recruiting and advising undergraduate students; coordinating educational efforts with regional community college and Murray State University; recruiting and evaluation adjunct instructors; supervising student teachers; scheduling; and sponsoring a Kentucky Education Association Student Program chapter.
2+2 site coordinator responsibilities include:
Coordinating education programs at extended campuses. Work with regional community college administrators, faculty, and staff to recruit students into the 2+2 program, and to coordinate 100 and 200 level community college course offerings to feed into the MSU teacher education programs. Maintain current, accurate guides sheets for 2+2 programs.
Advising and recruiting students. Recruit students to enter the 2 + 2 program in the regions. Visit neighboring high schools, civic events, community college classrooms to promote the 2 + 2 program and to motivate and encourage students to enter the teaching profession.
Recruiting adjunct faculty. Collaborate with the MSU Murray campus department chair to schedule fall/spring courses at extended campus sites. Recruit educators for consideration as adjunct instructors with the department chair's approval. Monitor and assist adjuncts' instructional efforts. Maintain relationships with local schools hosting candidates' field and clinical experiences. Formally evaluate adjuncts.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Master's degree in curriculum and instruction or other educational field.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Must have at least three (3) years of public school teaching experience in grades PreK-12.
