Days and Hours: AY:M-F 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; SMR:M-R 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
1.Supervise the daily operations of the training facility to include the calibration, maintenance, and repair of the burn building and exterior fire training simulators, operating the control tower of the burn building when needed; replacing the plywood panel on the roof simulator after each use. 2.Provide the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety with comprehensive records of all fire service training, as well as other specific training courses for which the Division of Fire Safety has oversight. 3.Responsible for the recruitment and evaluation of qualified instructors and to ensure they are certified by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety for the training of recruits. 4.Conduct classroom instruction. 5.Assure required safety policies and procedures are followed within all programs by students and facilitators. 6.Develop and enforce Academy Rules and Regulations; responsible for the dismissal of recruits when necessary, and the resulting notifications and reports on incident. 7.Responsible for the research & development of policies and programs affecting staff, faculty, and facilities in the operation of the academy, and which affect the fire academy's short and long term goals. 8.Represent CCC as a liaison with other agencies in the research, planning, and development of training affecting the standards and goals of Fire Service for the State of New Jersey. 9.Attend meetings of the Faculty Assembly, College committee meetings as appointed, and all orientation functions as required. 10.Provide leadership, mentorship, and or guidance to staff and students. 11.Serve as member of the NJ State Committee with the Division of Fire Safety for the approval of fire service accredited curriculum for Tier 1 academies. 12.Serve as member of the NJ State Emergency Medical Services Authority and Liaison with NJ Department of Health. 13.Attend all State Eligible Organization, County Fire Service, and Division of Fire Safety meetings. 14.Support the Camden County College Strategic Plan through management of Fire Academy programs, operations, equipment maintenance, and finances. 15.Assist with research, development, and submission all Fire Academy grant proposals to CCC Grant's Department. 16.Research and/or purchase of training equipment to support the education of emergency responders. 17.Supervise Right to Know, MSDS, and all inspections for RETC campus in the Coordinator's absence. 18.Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations. 19.Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources. 20.Perform all other duties as assigned.
1.Associate's degree with minimum 15 years of Executive Fire Service experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related experience. 2.Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) academic credits being equal to one (1) year of experience. 3.Demonstrated strength in Fire Service experience with progressive responsibilities in training, supervision, management, and leadership.
