The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Clinician/Educator for a busy university-based practice. The practice covers our main outpatient facility, a physician referral service and a Women and Children's medical center based inpatient service. The physician would be joining 3 established Maternal Fetal Medicine providers and covering a referral region of approximately 6500 deliveries per year. The practice is presently consult only with a high-volume ultrasound referral base but there is an option to perform all levels of inpatient obstetrics. The hospital system is composed of 8 facilities performing obstetrics which all refer the high risk to the medical center. Tennessee has 5 perinatal regions designated by the DOH and the medical center is the designated perinatal referral center for the Northeast Tennessee Region.
The ideal candidate will have a unique opportunity to participate in clinical and educational activities focusing on patient care and the training of Ob/Gyn residents and medical students. Qualified candidates must be BE/BC in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the time of hire. The position is open to experienced physicians as well as current fellowship graduates with demonstrated leadership ability and a passion for teaching and excellent patient care.
The position is considered full time but could be adjusted to a part time position for the right candidate and is flexible so it can be tailored to optimize work-life balance. The position is compensated as a combination of academic salary with a component of clinical productivity. Protected time is provided for educational duties as well as pursuing research opportunities. The pay is competitive and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
