To perform professional level engineering and scientific research assignments. Performs supervisory or highly complex engineering work at a professional level in the evaluation, review, selection, adaptation, and modification of standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Reviews plans, specifications and engineering reports for new or modified public water systems for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Coordinates or performs technical data collection, research, analysis, evaluations, inspections, or surveys and evaluates impacts. May supervise, coordinate, and review the work of others, and may be assisted on projects by engineers, other professionals, or technicians. Makes and records observations and measurements. Work may result in the development of new or refined techniques, procedures, equipment, processes, products, and/or scientific methods. May coordinate the work of division level technical staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in the area of environmental sciences or work related experience. One (1) year of work experience or one (1) year of work experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or related field or the equivalent experience.
