Assist in the effective fiscal management for the departments served by Auxiliary Business Services and provide supervisory and management skills related to accounting, accounts payable, and student billing.
Monitor the activity associated with University Housing move-in/move-out files and meal plans to ensure amounts and due dates are correct, all applicable charges are posted timely and accurately, and to the correct property, and communications are in compliance with Texas Property Law. Organize, coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operations for the accounting function, to include accounts payable, pro-card processing, travel, interdepartmental transfers, and monitoring daily deposits. Prepare and review various reconciliations related to the business activities of the departments served by Auxiliary Business Services to include MavMoney, Sponsored Students, check and credit cards logs, and utilities. Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate support staff and assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to effective operations. Recommend updates to departmental publications. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting. Seven (7) years of accounting experience or the equivalent experience. Prior supervisory experience. Excellent communication skills. Proven customer-relations skills or the equivalent experience
Experience supervising accounts payable and general accounting. Knowledge of fund accounting. Experienced user of Microsoft Office. University or other government related experience.
