Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Counselor reports to the Regional Center Director and is an entry-level professional position functioning as a small business case management, information, and introductory counseling specialist.
Handling all client intake including: deciding the best assistance options for each client (training, group counseling, individual counseling), answering general start-up questions, developing financial spreadsheets and completing short-term research projects for selected clients. This position reports to the Regional Center Director.
Serve as the primary front-line employee that is the first contact point for clients, prospective clients, and others. Contact is by telephone, email, correspondence, appointment, and walk-in activity.
Counseling responsibility includes performing the initial client needs assessment, providing with general business counseling, recording the new client activity, managing client portfolio assigned, and applies Trusted Advisor techniques in client engagements.
Work directly with clients to gather and input the information needed to produce business financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows).
Perform financial ratio analysis and note areas of interest or concern.
Administrative duties including overall support for center operations, performance report analysis and preparation, and comprehensive support of general business counselors and regional director.
Participates in staff meeting and Regional Advisory Board meetings; participates as an instructor in Continuing Professional Education events.
