Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide consultation, support and training for DegreeWorks to faculty, staff and students. Support provided includes the coding of the DegreeWorks software and the updating of SQL based scribing of curriculum requirements from the Academic Bulletin.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Collaborates with the university community for the continuing implementation and optimization of Degree Works audit system and the Student Educational Planner.
Maintains and troubleshoots academic program requirements in the Degree Works degree auditing system, including updating the Scribe and maintaining templates in the Student Educational Planner.
Maintains all DegreeWorks related system database tables and other related settings.
Anticipates degree audit reporting and advisement needs. Develops and implements effective solutions tailored to specific situations.
Backs up the Catalog and Curriculum Analyst to make updates to catalog database (Acalog) based on curriculum changes.
Writes, maintains, and interprets reports from Banner and Degree Works using SQL to ensure the accurate, efficient, and effective operation of the audit system.
Reviews current processes, evaluates, and implements changes for improvement.
Diagnose and correct problems existing with Degree Works, contacts Ellucian support center with issues and performs corrective actions.
Serves as a liaison and works closely with Information Technology Services to enhance the performance of the degree auditing system.
Responsible for maintaining the Degree Works website.
Member of the PowerUsers team.
Other duties as assigned.
Familiarity with Appalachian State University academic policies and procedures.
Familiarity with Banner, DegreeWorks, and Google Suite.
Proven ability to follow through with tasks and work within tight deadlines.
