Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated Director, Acute Emergency Services for the Acute Inpatient Units of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Director, Acute Emergency Services position is to provide administrative direction and oversight to assigned programs on both the Newark and Piscataway campuses, to ensure program integrity and fiscal viability for all assigned programs.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Directs the administrative and clinical organization of the program.
Establishes clear, measurable objectives for service.
Supervises staff as assigned by Vice President.
Writes grant proposals to expand services and to develop new programs.
Ensures that all documentation meets University Behavioral Health Care, Joint Commission, and respective licensing standards and regulations and that all is completed within the required timeframes.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of Master's Degree in a related mental health field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible postgraduate experience in related community mental health work, with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey Certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
Must possess a license to practice independently as a treatment provider in the State of New Jersey (LCSW, LPC, psychology license, etc.).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with treatment, supervision, and program development within a behavioral healthcare organization.
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills, and the ability to function in a team environment.
Knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment.
