Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated Research Teaching Specialist V for the Center for Tobacco Studies within the School of Public Health.
The Research Teaching Specialist V conducts specialized research in the area of tobacco and may assist in the coordination of research studies and/or educational activities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
As directed, performs various research functions relative to the ongoing activities of the Center including literature searches, study instrument development and testing, data entry, and recruitment of study participants for tobacco related studies.
Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary, and proposing new procedures where required. May include reviewing and improving cessation service delivery, training procedures and materials, etc.
Assists with educational and training activities of the Center directed at community members, students, and healthcare providers, as required. May include development of educational materials, participation in outreach events, etc.
Maintain detailed records and data sets of procedures and experiments including research protocols.
Supports the University's goal on Workplace Diversity and EEO goals and objectives concerning employment and promotional opportunities.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in public health or social sciences.
Prior research experience an asset.
Experience with tobacco research.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Lift or exert force up to 25 pounds
