Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Post Doc for the Radiation Oncology Department at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow to work under the direction of principal investigators on a project that aims at quantitatively extracting features from medical imaging data sets (MRI, PET-CT, CT scans) to assess the correspondence with molecular profiles and clinical outcomes. The successful candidates should have a background on biomedical imaging analysis, pattern recognition and/or machine learning. The group is active in the field of radiomics and its applied aspects, with ongoing collaborations in the field of genomics, clinical patient care. Successful candidates will become part of a multidisciplinary research team that investigates novel quantitative imaging metrics as a potential diagnostic, prognostic, and response assessment biomarkers for various disease types.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Works under the direction of principal investigators.
Is expected to develop computational tools (in Matlab or C++) in linking radiomics/radiogenomics data with clinical outcomes.
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and ability to publish scientific research papers/articles.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Successful candidates should have, or be in the process of completing, a PhD (or equivalent) in Biomedical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Physics, Biomedical Physics or related field.
Applicants are expected to have a background on biomedical imaging analysis and pattern recognition.
Additional experience on bioinformatics methods for unsupervised clustering of high-dimensional datasets is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is also essential.
Effective oral and written communication skills, to facilitate attendance at conferences and ability to publish scientific research papers/articles and reports.
Position is limited to a 1 year term.
