Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Department of Pharmacology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Research will focus on development novel tools for gene editing and proof-of-concept on therapeutic potential in cell models. Candidate will have experience in bacteriology, be familiar with the updates on gene editing technology, in particular base editing technology. The candidate must be proficient in molecular cloning, disease models, gene delivery systems, viral vector design.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Prepares experimental data for publication and grant applications.
Maintains accurate records of laboratory notebooks and research activity. Reviews literature and prepares manuscripts and abstracts for submission.
Presents findings at national meetings.
May also mentor graduate/undergraduate students.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in Biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
Prior experience in bacteriology (ideally gene editing with CRISPR technology).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must be highly motivated with evidence of productivity.
Individual must also possess strong writing skills, be well organized and think independently.
Equipment specific to a Pharmacology laboratory.
