Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III, for the Cop2Cop Program of the Call Center at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Mental Health Clinician III is to provide advanced level support including clinical and risk assessment for individuals who contact the Call Center.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Receives telephone, chat, and text requests for services, undertakes assessment of the service needs of the caller or consumer, and responds by offering support and appropriate referrals and disposition.
Demonstrates the ability to identify contacts needing a higher level of intervention and follows imminent risk policy and departmental protocol for handling and triaging crisis or high risk contacts.
Demonstrates flexibility in response to incoming call/service requests, follow-up services and crisis needs that occur in the Call Center.
Documents assessments, interventions, and interactions with individuals served according to the time frames and quality guidelines established by policy and applicable accrediting organization standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a mental health discipline.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
New Jersey license or permit as required by discipline.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners.
May be required to work overnights, weekends and holidays.
