Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Per Diem Research Assistant, for the Behavioral Science Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant is to conduct recruitment phone calls to increase enrollment in research studies and to assist with the preparations of mailing for partnering cancer registries for recruitment. Participant contact may occur during evening or weekend hours to ensure highest patient response.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs or assists with the execution of routine research protocol, such as interviewing, testing, and/or scientific procedures utilizing specialized analytical equipment, instrumentation and/or statistical software.
Recruits behavioral research study participants including via phone and mailings.
Attends research study meetings via phone or video chats.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Experience working in a medical or academic environment is preferred.
