The Laboratory of Biomolecular Engineering and Nanomedicine is led by Professor Gang Bao, a pioneer in genome editing and nanomedicine. A major focus of the Bao lab is centered on the development of gene editing techniques for basic biological studies and curing single-gene disorders, such as sickle-cell disease. An ideal research specialist should have extensive experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, plasmid preparation, maxi-prep/mini-prep, PCR, next-generation sequencing, and flow cytometry. The research specialist will serve as technical staff for the Bao laboratory and will work in a research capacity and apply genome editing technologies, including constructing, evaluating and optimizing the genome editing systems in vitro and in cells.
