Summary of Duties:
The interdisciplinary lab of Dr. Peixuan Guo at the Ohio State University seeks two Research Associates with experience or background in either biology or chemistry. Some of the responsibilities includes synthesis and purification of protein or RNA (T7 RNA polymerase transcription, solid phase synthesis, PCR, gel electrophoresis, gel extraction, HPLC, DNA/RNA purification kits etc.), Protein or RNA nanoparticle characterization (ultracentrifugation, nucleic acid hybridization, DLS/Zeta potential, qPCR, FACS, , microscopy, NTA, EM, ARM, UV melt), cell culture (fluorescent microscopy, flowcytometry, imaging, ELISA, qPCR, Western Blot, MTT Assay), molecular biology (protein expression, extraction, purification), nanoparticle construction, chemical conjugation, or organic synthesis. The goal is to transform basic science research in RNA nanotechnology and vial DNA packaging motor through innovative approaches to disease treatment and diagnostics, and drug development, and creating the next generation scientific workforce. A master’s degree in life sciences or chemistry such as; biology, microbiology, molecular biology, virology, biochemistry, chemistry, synthetic chemistry, or physical chemistry. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills are a must. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are preferred.

Target Salary: $19.23 - $24.03 Hourly
