The New School seeks a Student Account Coordinator in the Student Financial Services Office. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Accounts. The Student Accounts Coordinator will be responsible for day to day Account Receivable processing including refunds, billing assistance, reconciliations, ongoing receivable processing and customer service. The Student Account Coordinator will also assist with resolution of requests and inquiries from students and parents.
Responsibilities: - Process timely refunding of student accounts, including all Federal and private loan money in excess of tuition charges to students. - Process late fees; placing and/or removing holds. - Assist Associate Director in the review of billing rules and procedures to ensure a smooth and accurate billing cycle. - In conjunction with the Associate Director, manage reconciliations, audit preparation and ongoing student account review, ensuring data accuracy. - Assist students with general inquiries, by routing inquiries to the appropriate office. - Review monthly accounts receivable balances; develops and implements trend reporting; identifies issues or inconsistencies and recommends appropriate solutions. - Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports, revenue collection, and other financial reports for management. - Participate in the Student Accounts collection efforts for current accounts receivable. - Perform cashier's office functions as needed. - Maintain student account documentation to assist agencies in the collection of outstanding accounts including graduated or withdrawn students; maintains relevant statistics for reporting and analysis - Maintain familiarity with policies, regulations and procedures in order to provide information concerning accounts. - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum three years' experience with student accounts, accounts receivable and/or student financial aid.
