Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Assist Study Investigators with the administrative and scientific implementation of research protocol for complex and/or multiple research studies. As part of study team, collaborate with faculty, develop protocol, develop SOP, and supervise study-related activities for one or more studies. Will also be responsible for assisting Study Investigator with conducting data analysis and developing scientific manuscripts for publication in high impact peer-reviewed journals. Data analysis will entail exploratory, bivariate, multivariate, and multilevel modeling of psychosocial and biologic variables in a longitudinal data set. Developing scientific manuals will include conducting literature reviews, editing and ensuring that literature is properly cited.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Investigators with developing study protocols and IRB applications (including the research plan, recruitment materials and consent forms).
Conduct data collection activities including obtaining informed consent, screening, enrollment and follow-up surveys.
Assist with formative data collection by conducting in-depth interviews and/or focus groups.
Assist Investigators with monitoring progress of the study specifically recruitment, enrollment and follow-up.
Collaborate with organizations to facilitate recruitment, retention and dissemination of findings.
Assist Investigators with developing and conducting analysis plan (exploratory, bivariate and multivariate).
Producing data reports for Study Investigator to use in scientific manuscripts.
Assist Study Investigator with research manuscript and grant preparation, including conducting literature reviews, writing introduction, methods, results and discussion, formatting references and editing.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
Three (3) years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the * JHU Equivalency Formula: 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *
Master's Degree preferred.
Some supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitie
Proficiency in the use of data analysis and geographic information systems software and word processing required.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills a must.
Experience with citation management software (i.e. Refworks, Reference Manager, etc) or web design a plus.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
