JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Directorand Chief Medical Examiner of the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center(WTRFC), this position will oversee the medicolegal death investigator trainingprogram for internal and external staff and assists with death investigationsreported to the Medical Examiner.
Develops and manages amedicolegal death investigator training program.
Serves as liaison/coordinator/trainerfor the training program.
Promotes the training programand recruits students from various backgrounds/jurisdictions.
Works jointly with theDirector and Chief Medical Examiner to identify appropriatetrainings/certifications for investigators, technicians, and pathologists (e.g.HAZMAT).
Establishes amulti-week medicolegal death investigation training curriculum.
Recommends appropriatevenues for facilitating annual internal staff trainings/certifications.
Recreates WTRFC massfatality response plan.
Creates and appliesannual tabletop and full-scale mass fatality exercises.
Sustains areapartnerships for mass fatality response.
Maintains equipment related to disaster response.
Ensures open investigator shifts are covered.
Provides administrative support to the death investigatordepartment, as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
